How we work

Life at tastytrade

Our headquarters lives in the growing center for tech in the West Loop, Chicago. A vibrant neighborhood where you can find some of the best cuisines, high-end bars, and coffee shops.

The Building

Located in the Chicago Google building (1K Fulton Market), tastytrade is easily accessed by the Morgan CTA stop one block away, or a shuttle bus that delivers you to the 1K doorstep from the nearby Ogilvie Metra station.

Within the building you'll find a fitness center, a recreation area with ping-pong table and board games, and a park-like roof with areas to sit, surrounded by flowers and herb gardens.

About Our Office

The tastytrade office is designed for both productivity and comfort. Our open floor plan allows for organic collaboration and connection between team members, but is also furnished with small individual offices if there's a need for a quiet workspace.

We provide daily catered lunches and have a fully-stocked kitchen with snacks, beverages, and cold brew machine. You'll also sometimes find one or two employee-owned dogs trotting around the office, sniffing out scraps of that catered lunch, and generally boosting morale.

Ways to work

The ways people work are shifting, as are our policies around hybrid and remote work. Though each team has its own approach to the hybrid work model, you'll likely be able to work from home part of the week.

Hybrid Model

Different positions within various teams are allowing flexible arrangements regarding hybrid work. Each case is different so it's up to the manager of the team to decide.

Working Remotely

We recognize that in order to attract top talent, we need to broaden our scope outside of Chicago. While most of our employees are local and will come into the office at least part time, in some special cases we are open to hiring fully remote work.

Outside the Office

tastylive and tastytrade employees often participate in charities like Culinary Care, a cancer recovery organization, and Letters to Santa, a program that pays for holiday gifts for children in need.

Of course, we also like to get together just for fun! You'll often find yourself invited along for afterwork drinks at a local bar or restaurant. Our engineering team in particular is notorious for their outings. In the past, they've organized escape rooms, bowling, movies, laser tag, and axe-throwing events, among others.
